Lunch with children at JNV Balashore

On our introduction, Principal of JNV Balashore invited us to have lunch with children. My mother, my wife Richa, my friend Shashank and his wife were with me. While we are on way from Bhuwaneshwar to Balasore, we all felt hunger and looking for some place for stay. As being an alumni of JNV, suddenly I thought to find some JNV in nearby to have lunch. We found JNV Balasore, just ten kilometer off the road on GPS and we moved towards that. Unaware of the culture JNV they were astonished on my decision, but they maintained silence seeing my past records of such lovely nonsense.
As we reached school, we all entered in the school premise. It was beautifully decorated and there were plants on the both side of the road. There we found some children and talked about school's stuff and asked where is The Principal. When they got our introduction, he himself offered me for lunch. We all enjoyed lunch together and spent some time with children in the hostel on the request of the Principal and guided them for better future.
Teachers from Bihar reflected nostalgia after meeting with us. Shashank also befriended with them. Really this was a great event for me and demonstration of a nice culture to the outsiders who weren't remained outsiders as they also got many good friends in students there.

Success Stories: Sharmilee Kumari (Journey from Shanti Nagar to Lucknow)

सत्र 2011 के अगस्त माह में एनटीपीसी, रिहंद के कुछ अभियंता मेरे विद्यालय आए और उन्होने प्रयास टीम के द्वारा कर्मचारी विकास केंद्र में चलाये जा रहे गरीब बच्चों को अभियन्ताओं के द्वारा मुफ्त पढ़ाई के बारे में बताया और वहा हमलोगों को भी आने के लिए कहा । मैं भी अच्छी पढ़ाई करना चाहती थी । कुछ अच्छा सीखने की ललक से मैं भी वहाँ प्रतिदिन जाने लगी। मैं शांति नगर में रहती हूँ। मेरे पिता श्री जगई सिंह प्लांट मे हाईड्रा ऑपरेटर हैं । मुझे भी एनटीपीसी टाउनशिप के विद्यालयों में पढ़ने की इच्छा होती थी, लेकिन आर्थिक तंगी की वजह से मुझे सरकारी विद्यालय में ही नामांकन करा लिया था। पारिवारिक एवं सामाजिक परिवेश ऐसा था की हम लोग जैसे तैसे कर्मचारी विकास केंद्र चले जाते थे। हमारे कपड़े गंदे हुआ करते थे। बाल कंघा भी करके नहीं आते थे। कुछ बच्चे आपस में झगड़ भी लेते थे। प्रारब्ध में ठीक से पढ़ना भी नहीं आता था।
कर्मचारी विकास केंद्र में एनटीपीसी के अभियंता हमलोगो को पढ़ाई के साथ-साथ, अच्छे से रहना भी सिखाते थे। प्रेरणादायी कहानी बताते थे। छोटे-छोटे कार्यक्रम करवाते थे। खेल एवं योग के द्वारा हमलोगों के सोच मे काफी परिवर्तन आया। अनुशाशन में रहना सीख गये। इससे पढाई में और मन लगने लगा।नैगम सामाजिक उत्तरदायित्व विभाग द्वारा कभी-कभी कॉपी-किताब भी हमलोगों को दिया जाता था। इससे हमलोगों को काफी सुविधा हो जाती थी। यहा आने के बाद लिखना-पढ़ना बढ़ गया था। उतनी किताबें-कापियाँ खरीदने में हममे से अधिकांश असमर्थ थे।प्रयास टीम हमलोगो के भविष्य की चिंता करते थे। भविष्य में हमलोग क्या बन सकते थे, इसके बारे में बताया करते थे। इसी उद्देश्य से पोलिटेकनिक परीक्षा की विशेष तैयारी कराई जाने लगी। गत वर्ष कृपाशंकर भैया यही से हमलोगों की तरह ही पढ़ाई करते हुए सफलता हासिल किया था। उन्होने भी हमलोगो को कड़ी मेहनत करने की सलाह दी थी, और बताया था की प्रयास टीम से हमलोगों को अधिक-से-अधिक लाभ उठाना चाहिए। इनके निर्देश में  कड़ी मेहनत करने से सफलता निश्चित है।

मैं भी कक्षा दस मे आ गयी थी। राघवेन्द्र सर ने हमलोगों को पढ़ाना शुरू किया। पुरे साल वे लगातार हमलोगों को प्रतिदिन दो तीन घंटे पढ़ाया करते थे। आरंभ में पाठ्यक्रम को पुरा पढ़ाया और फिर पोलिटेकनिक परीक्षा की तैयारी भी करवायी। मैं भी पहले की अपेक्षा ज्यादा पढ़ने लगी थी। सवेरे जल्दी उठकर पढ़ने की आदत लग गयी थी। नैगम सामाजिक उत्तरदायित्व ने हमलोगों को पोलिटेकनिक परीक्षा की तैयारी हेतु गाईड दिया था, जिससे काफी लाभ हुआ। परीक्षा का फॉर्म भरना, परीक्षा दिलाने ले जाना इत्यादि काम भी प्रयास टीम ने हमलोगों के लिए किया। ईश्वर की कृपा से मैं प्रथम प्रयास में ही सत्र 2015-16 के लिए पास कर गयी और आज गवर्नमेंट पोलिटेकनिक कॉलेज, लखनऊ में पढ़ रही हूँ। शांतिनगर (रिहंद) से लखनऊ आने का यह सफर प्रयास टीम एवं एनटीपीसी के सहयोग से संभव हो पाया हैं।
 पढ़ाई करने के बाद मैं भी प्रयास टीम जो अब “नवोदय मिशन” के नाम से काम कर रही है, की सदस्य बनके गरीब बच्चो को उचित शिक्षा देने में अपना योगदान दूँगी। 

Navodaya Mission Academy

Remidial classes: Almost 90 percent students of government schools are unable to read properly and do simple mathematics. This is the great hurdle for developing interest in study. As they are unable to understand basic written Hindi, they also do not understand science, social science.

As they join Navodaya Mission Academy, the first task is to make them conducive for reading, writing and doing simple mathematics. For that our volunteers, senior students extensively work upon them and make them well versed in reading and writing. Besides they keep asking how many pages are you studying daily, encourages writing a page on daily basis and do some mathematics. Students who are hardly read one or two pages daily, start reading 20-25 pages in a hour. Slowly they also start remembering stories, poems etc. as they are made to tell stories in audiences on regular basis. Games, yoga further make their mind conducive by inculcating discipline in their habit. With this their performance in education improves and then they are given entry for preparation of professional courses.

Coaching for JNV Entrance Examination: Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya is a scheme of central government for providing education to poor students on public school pattern almost free of cost. As almost all the students of Navodaya Mission Academy comes from poor strata as they are children of labourers, tribals and people involved in lower income occupation, it would be boon for them if they get selected in JNV. One teacher is exclusively coach childred for this purpose. Students are trained in mathematics and Hindi. Our volunteers helped them to fill entrance form and also provide assistance to reach the center. Till now more than fifty students were made to sit in the examination. Though we have not achieved the positive result, yet overall ability of children improves.
Coaching classes for Polytechnique Entrance Examination: As students are coming from poor background with limited academic capability, they are encouraged for appearing in Polytechnique entrance examination, so that they may get professional degree after tenth to become employable. Students are specially taught in class tenth with the motive to prepare for theexam. Other senior students are also encouraged to attend this class for reappear.  Consequently for the past two years we have got result and one student is now studying in Gov. Polytechnique college Bareilli and one in Gov. Polytechnique college, Lucknow. This year more students are being encouraged to appear in the exam.

Navodaya Guru at Gov. School Sirsoti on Women's Day

Lecture on Woman Empowerment at Gov. School Sirsoti on 8 March, 2016 was delivered. As usual task for making arrangement has been given to Abhimanyu Jahsawal. But he has to go Lucknow with children who were to participate in state level sports competition. I just told him to inform Panditji, another teacher with enthusiasm about the event. I reached school by 2.45 PM. I handover the result of NMRTSE-2016 to headmaster and invited for the talk. All the students were made to sit in a room and banner was hanged. I requested Panditji to deliver lecture. Without showing any kind of hesitation he spoke boldly and talked about the achievement of women in diverse field. Then I spoke interactively to make students remember names of Raja Ram Mohan Roy, Ishwarchandra Vidyasagar and suggested students about their vote for women empowerment when seat of Pradhan is reserved for woman. One should not vote those woman candidates whose only male family members are campaigning for votes and she herself doesn't go meeting people in the village. Woman showing leadership should be recognized and should be voted to win as she would be inspiring figure for girls and she also will be in better position to understand and address women's problem.

Finally i also made one more teacher to speak and ended the program by 3.15PM as I have to resume my duty and school time was also over. 

Navodaya Mission Pustakalaya, Sirsoti (Sonebhadra)

महाप्रबंधक, एन॰ टी॰ पी॰ सी॰ के द्वारा नवोदय मिशन पुस्तकालय का विमोचन

  आज गांधीजी के पुण्य स्मृति के अवसर पर नवोदय मिशन ने सिरसोती  ग्राम के सामुदायिक भवन में एन टी पी सी रिहंद, सी एस आर विभाग के सौजन्य से पुस्तकालय का विमोचन समारोह का आयोजन किया। इस कार्यक्रम के मुख्य अतिथि एवं महाप्रबन्धक, एन टी पी सी, रिहंद श्री अशेष कुमार मुखर्जी ने गांधीजी को पुष्प अर्पित किए एवं सरस्वती जी को दीप जलाकर पुस्तकालय का विमोचन किया। उन्होंने छात्रों को अपने हाथों से पुस्तकें पढ़ने के लिए दिया । इस कार्यक्रम के मुख्य वक्ता एवं अपर महाप्रबंधक (वित्त) श्री पारस मनी ने छात्रों को पुस्तकालय का उपयोग ज्ञान वर्धन करने के लिए और जीवन में ऊंची सफलता हासिल करने का साधन बनाने की प्रेरणा दी। सोनभद्र के महान समाजसेवी प्रेमभाई के कार्यकर्ता के रूप मे जीवन समर्पित करने वाले डा राम प्रसाद गौड़ ने प्रेमभाई के जीवन व उनके द्वारा प्रदेश के विकास के लिए किए गए कार्यों पर प्रकाश डाला एवं एन टी पी सी रिहंद के द्वारा लोगों का विकास के कार्यों की सराहना की और बताया की इनकी वजह से बहुत सारे लोगों को अप्रतिम विकास हुआ हैं। इस अवसर पर अपर महाप्रबंधक (अस्पताल) डा कृष्णा मल, प्रबन्धक उपेंद्र कुमार मिश्र, आशारामजी, शिव प्रसाद शर्मा, बिरेन्द्र कुमार, अरुण कुमार श्रीवास्तव उपस्थित रहे। नवोदय मिशन के ग्रामीण कार्यकर्ता अभिमन्यु, गंगाजी इत्यादि ने कार्यक्रम की सारी व्यवस्था की। श्री राम यादव ने मंच का संचालन किया। कार्यक्रम का संयोजन नवोदय मिशन के चेयरमैन शांता कुमार ने किया।  

NMRTSE-2016: Navodaya Mission Rural Talent Search Examination

नवोदय मिशन ग्रामीण प्रतिभा खोज परीक्षा का डी॰ ए॰ वी॰, पब्लिक स्कूल रिहंद में आयोजन

एन॰ टी॰ पी॰ सी॰ रिहंद परियोजना के अभियन्ताओं द्वारा संचालित स्वयं सेवी संस्था नवोदय मिशन ने ग्रामीण प्रतिभा को तलाशने के लिए एन॰एम॰आर॰टी॰एस॰ई॰-2016 का आयोजन डी॰ ए॰ वी॰, पब्लिक स्कूल रिहंद में रविवार दिनांक 28.02.2016 को आयोजन किया। इसके तहत एन॰ टी॰ पी॰ सी॰, सामाजिक उत्तरदायित्व विभाग के सहयोग से चुने हुए ग्रामीण बच्चों के उचित शिक्षा हेतु नवोदय मिशन समुचित प्रयास करेगी, ताकि ये शिक्षा के क्षेत्र में सफलता हासिल कर सकें एवं इस क्षेत्र के विकास मे मिल का पत्थर साबित हो। इस परीक्षा मे कक्षा 4 से 10 के 290 छात्र जो आस पास के सरकारी विद्यालय एवं स्वयं सेवी संस्था मालवीय मिशन, नवोदय मिशन, चेतना के द्वारा चलाये जा रहे विद्यालयों में अपनी पढ़ाई कर रहे हैं, ने भाग लिया। डी॰ ए॰ वी॰, स्कूल के प्रिन्सिपल एवं शिक्षण स्वयं उपस्थित होकर परीक्षा को सम्पादन करने हेतु सारी व्यवस्थाएं की। अपर महाप्रबंधक एवं नवोदय मिशन, रिहंद के अध्यक्ष हरे राम सिंह, अपर महाप्रबंधक संजय कुमार, वरिष्ठ प्रबन्धक (मा॰सं॰) शुभदीप शोम, वरिष्ठ प्रबन्धक अभिषेक टंडन, वरिष्ठ प्रबन्धक एवं मालवीय मिशन के अध्यक्ष कृष्ण देव पाण्डेय एवं प्रबन्धक (सी॰एस॰आर॰) नरसिंह यादव परीक्षा के समय उपस्थित रहे एवं इसे सुचारु रूप से होने के लिए निर्देशन देते रहे। इस कार्यक्रम को कराने में नवोदय मिशन के अधिकारी एवं कार्यकर्तागण उप प्रबन्धक जितेंद्र पालीवाल, योगेंद्र कुमार, हरेन्द्र कुमार, बिरेन्द्र कुमार एवं अनुज कुमार, सह॰ प्रबन्धक राघवेंद्र कुमार, मयंक गुप्ता, मोहित गौतम एवं गौरव श्रीवास्तव, कृष्ण मोहन तिवारी का पूर्ण सहयोग रहा। परीक्षा का संचालन एवं परिकल्पना नवोदय मिशन के महासचिव शांता कुमार ने किया। इस अवसर पर समाजसेवी श्री राम प्रसाद गौड़ एवं अन्य ग्रामवासी उपस्थित रहे, जो इस क्षेत्र में शिक्षा के प्रति हो रही जागरूकता का प्रतीक हैं। इस परीक्षा में कक्षा 10 के जनार्दन सिंह, मनीषा गुप्ता, रुक्साना बानो, कक्षा 9 के शिवाकर झा, विनोद कुमार, मीरा कुमारी, कक्षा 8 के ओम प्रकाश विश्वकर्मा, मंजु कुमारी, शालू कुमारी, कक्षा 7 के लालसा कुमारी, अभिषेक कुमार गुप्ता, श्यामा कुमारी, कक्षा 6 के लक्ष्मी, किरण, अर्चना, कक्षा 5 के सूरज कुमार, संदीप जायसवाल, धनंजय राय, कक्षा 4 के प्रिंस शर्मा, सोनी कुमारी एवं हस्नैन अंसारी ने अच्छा प्रदर्शन किया। नवोदय मिशन एन॰ टी॰ पी॰ सी॰ रिहंद परियोजना एवं इनके अभियंताओ के मदद से इसके आस पास के ग्रामीण छात्रों के अच्छी शिक्षा के लिए विगत सात साल से प्रयास कर रहे हैं। इस क्रम में शिक्षा, पोलिटेक्निक परीक्षा की तैयारी (दो सफलता), ईंजिनीयरिंग परीक्षा की तैयारी (8 सफलता), व्यक्तित्व विकास, विद्यालयों में नवोदय गुरु के द्वारा प्रेरणा दायीं भाषण का आयोजन, खेल स्पर्धा का विकास एवं नवोदय विद्यालय प्रवेश परीक्षा की तैयारी कराया जाता रहा हैं। इस सारे कार्यों मे एन॰ टी॰ पी॰ सी॰, सामाजिक उत्तरदायित्व विभाग का सहयोग मिलता रहा हैं।
