Mukhyamantri Septic Tank Safai Yojana

Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana

The five point action programme also aligns with different Sustainable Development Goals such as SDG 2 (Zero Hunger), SDG 3 (Good Health and Well Being) and SDG 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation).

Rs 12,000 crore Nadu-Nedu programme in Andhra Pradesh to turn govt schools into competitive institutions

The goal is to meet the requirement of what the fast-changing technology in the world expects from youth ten years from now. English medium schools as we have to prepare the students to boldly face and stand up to the requirements of the technology-driven world.

Note: Forward and backward approach is the requirement in the age of artificial intelligence as language might not be hurdle for communication. So there is need of bringing high tech knowledge in local language and let the common man explore and innovate things and sell in the market. 

Richa Smriti awarded PhD Degree by LNMU Darbhanga

Panel of professors for conducting Viva-Voce gave standing ovation after listening detailed answers with fluency. When Professor Arunima Sinha asked Professor Nibha Singh from Magadh University, she smiled and said she already had listened a lot. Though she expressed tough personality in the morning, she took her in her own car and have long informal talks.  

This all happened due to hard work done with limited resource and constraint of time. Being from mediocre family and ghetto like locality, it is a great achievement. She belongs to Latraha, Jalle, Darbhanga, Bihar.

Comparison or misplaced comparison

These days a particular section of society is advocating for reservation based on economic criteria. They are social engineers not by degree but by rumours. They share facts in misplaced way to support their argument.

In one picture, Ram Vilas Paswarn family was compared with a poor Rajput of Madhya Pradesh. Ram Vilas Paswan is the best family belonging to Dalit community while that labourers of Rajput community has no standing in his own caste. Such misplaced propagation will have no good society.

These days upper caste vs lower caste has gone in backyard while General Vs Dalit is more prominent. One should know that General class includes all even Dalits and hence comparing general versus dalit is itself reflect parochial mindset where upper caste people are identifying themselves and trying keep category candidates out of general category.

Chetna School Nemna

Due to stoppage of funding from Patron Company as the school has not been recognized by state machinery, Chetna School Nemna has been closed. The NGO, Chetna also didn't take any measure to restart the school or some educational aid. More than 500 children stranded.

On request of Gram Pradhan, Navodaya Mission Trust has taken responsibility of running school and other educational activity on full responsibility.

The study has been compiled and developed into an academic paper which has been presented in South Asia Conference on Social Entrepreneurship during 17 Jan. to 19 Jan., 2018 at TISS, Mumbai.

Power Struggle @Shanti Nagar

Raghuraj Singh, a resident of Shanti Nagar belongs to upper caste of Hindu Society. As he has developed connection with local thana and also associated with a local newspaper, he is considered as a strong man and known as Thakur. Many local people also approach him for solving their disputes. Once I had met him at some public places, he gave space for my NGO in his newspaper.

One day Yogendra told that some of our students are facing some problems and requires help. Raghuraj Singh used to leave his cow open in the night. She used to go in other fields. This has caused many hot discussions with Raghuraj and his neibhours. The mother of Dinesh Kumar, a poor lady struggling for meeting two ends meet of her family have also suffered from his Dabangai. Her husband is already went some other places in search of job. Dinesh has been coming for study to Navodaya Mission for four five years. One night that cow died. The reason was unknown. Raghuraj Singh alleged her (Dinesh mother) for giving poison to his cow and threatened her to make complain in police. Under panic Dinesh approached Yogendra Kumar. He described the whole event in hot word as he looked it as case of atrocities to lower caste by an upper caste goons. After listening the whole episode I thought to solve the problem amicably and hence informed Tripathiji, a local member of Navodaya Mission to solve the problem who has connections with local police. He just shared the thing with a policeman who assured to help the miserable lady.

In the police station matter were resolved amicably. The poor lady felt relieved. This has given good message in the society and the invincibility of Raghuraj Singh has already been questioned.    

Young Sweeper at Vindhya Nagar Admin Building

While I was coming out from admin building of NTPC Vindhyanagar, I just saw a person carrying dustbin. Looking her nice dress of blue color, I was in doubt that he was a sweeper or not. Instinctively I inquired, "Are you sweeper? Where are living?" He replied positively and mentioned they are living just outside the township of NTPC Vindhya Nagar though they had made their huts on the land of NTPC Vindhya Nagar. He further mentioned that there was no electricity, no proper source of water etc in his locality. 

He mentioned that he belonged to lower caste. When I told him to mention the name of his caste specifically. At first he didn't understood, but on my mentioning DOM he said yes he belong to that caste only. 

I promised him that at sometime I would visit his locality and would like to work to improve their condition.  

Two Young Labourers @ Vindhya Nagar Township

Whenever I am walking along roadside in township or in plant areas I used to look around all the people coming and going here and there. If I come across with a labourer I intend to talk with him. Yesterday at Vindhya Nagar, I met two young labourers with his boss. When I started talking with these two guys his boss kept walking in the same pace and went much ahead. Curious I asked these boys where they are living. They said they are in Delhi. They were brought here to work by a certain contractor for two-three months. Meanwhile they are living just outside the campous. Further he mentioned that they belong to Muzaffpur and stay mostly in Anandvihar, Delhi for work purpose. When I asked how much they are being given, they shyly mentioned about seven and a half thousand rupees including food and room rent. Further he mentioned that he was being paid in cash. The other boy mentioned it depended upon contractors, sometime they were being paid in cash or sometime their salary are being paid directly into their bank account. 

Being curious I asked when they were going home. They said generally in two three months they are visiting their home. Particularly they have to move home when some emergency situation arises at home. It is really amazing how these boys are managing their family and emergency situations with such petty salaries. 

The second boy started telling he would earn money for a few months and then  they would go back home to resume their study as he realized that their is no fate in being a labourer.   

Ambedkar Jayanti

Rally was organized early in the morning at Rihand. In the evening Sirsoti organized a rally in the evening and took a round in the village. Many people were excited to see the rally in their village. We also went in locality of Baiga Community which someone told that it is red light area of Sirsoti and wished the end of such activities from the village. I directed to give free education to their children and if needed to give scholarship for encouragement. 

Navodaya Mission Academy

NTPC Rihand has provided a building having two small rooms and two attached tiny rooms for teaching purposes for shifting this educational activities from EDC Rihand. People are fearful who will be responsible if some mishappening will occur. Now Navodaya Mission has to take all the responsibilities. Whatever be the case now our activities will be recognized from our name, otherwise these activities are being taken activities by EDC. So there is gain as well as losses. Our team members have once again expressed solidarity and wished to lead the program more effectively.
Further on our repeated request finally ED Rihand, Shree Murty sir made CSR to sanction Rs. 120000/- for keeping some teachers. 

@Sewa Kunj Ashram, Karidar, Chapaki

Date 29/11/2016

We visited this Ashram and interacted with children. This Ashram is being run by an NGO, Sewa Samarpan Sansthan which is associated with Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram which is part of RSS family. Currently Anandji heads this ashram and takes care of all its affairs. He is Pracharak of RSS and designated as Prant Sangathan Mantri, Kashi Prant from organizational point of view. 

At present, 165 tribal children from all across Sonebhadra including some children from Jharkhand from border villages of Sonebhadra are staying in the Ashram. They are provided accommodation, fooding etc. by Ashram free of cost. There is arrangement for education till class fifth and then children go to nearby highschools for secondary education.
Discipline is the key of this Ashram. All are bounded by rules and regulation and children are not tended to break the rules though no corporal punishment is being given to any children.

Panchayat Level Sports Event

Like last year students of Gov. School, Sirsoti (Senior and Junior) excelled in the sports specially Kho Kho. All the four teams of Kho-Kho (boys and girls) beaten all the opponent and reached in the next level. Now they will play on block level, then on district level and finally on state level. Last year children of this school reached at state level. Abhimanyu Jaisawal, representative of Navodaya Mission from Sirsoti kept working hard with children to make this possible. Headmasters of these schools thanked Navodaya Mission for these achievements.

How vulnerable are the lives of laborers/sanitation workers in unorganized sector?

Unlike all the days his family members would have kept waiting for him. Fortunately the Police identified the person after making calls from his phone. Police was quick enough to guess the reality behind the dreadful case. Everyone was talking, if some accident happens, one should help the victim to reach hospital. He should be more sympathetic.

The employers disowned him for avoiding obligation of giving any compensation or aid to his family to bear the pain inflicted upon them due to this unfortunate accident. Someone near to him came and requested the police to help his family to get some help and accepted the truth that his near and dear one has gone out of this world. Police is unable to give any consolation and seemed more active to identify and catch the real victim.

Early in the morning many interpretations were there in the rumors. People were making talks as if they have found the truth.

It is more unlikely that that person would have benefited from Atal Pension Yojana or recently launched insurance scheme. Fortunately his son is old enough to take care of himself. 

Headmaster, Middle School Darbhanga Visited Navodaya Mission Pustakalaya

Shree Arjun Thakur, Headmaster, Middle school Darbhanga Visited Sirsoti village and observed the impact of activities of Navodaya Mission for the improvement of educational environment of the village. After seeing the library he appreciated the work for developing reading habit among the children and thought to do the same in his school.

Later he also visited Brahmnishtha Ashram where Navodaya Ashram is constructing a building for Navodaya Mission for Digital India for computer literacy of the village.

Request for admission of children of labourers/PAPs/poor people declined

On getting green signal from CSR, Navodaya Mission conducted "Navodaya Mission Rural Talent Search Examination-2016" for students studying in government schools and private schools outside the Rihand Township on 28 February. Beyond our expectations, some students of these poor strata of society excelled in this examination. They had hope that they would be given chance to study in St. Joseph School, DAV School and Central School, Rihand. After following two and half months, finally it was declared that there is no policy for such admissions and many NGOs would come ahead with such proposals which would be unmanageable. 

Divide between managers and majdoor is continued.

उत्तर प्रदेश पॉलिटेक्निक संयुक्त प्रवेश परीक्षा में नवोदय मिशन रिहंद के छात्रों ने बाजी मारी

यदि लगन हो और कुछ करने की चाहत, तो मंज़िल का रास्ता अपने आप बनता चला जाता हैं और आप सफलता के शिखर पर पहुँच ही जाते हैं। सिरसोती की बुलबुल कुमारी एवं जनार्दन सिंह तथा शांति नगर की कविता ने  उत्तर प्रदेश पॉलिटेक्निक संयुक्त प्रवेश परीक्षा में सफलता हासिल कर इस बात को सिद्ध कर दिया हैं। एन॰टी॰पी॰सी॰ रिहंद के अभियन्ताओं द्वारा चलाये जा रहे स्वयंसेवी संस्था "नवोदय मिशन" विगत चार सालों से गरीब ग्रामीण बच्चों के लिए निशुल्क "पॉलिटेक्निक प्रवेश परीक्षा" की तैयारी कराता आ रहा हैं। आस-पास के ग्रामीण बच्चे प्रतिदिन कर्मचारी विकास केंद्र में दो-तीन घंटे के लिए आते थे जहां उन्हें नवोदय मिशन के सदस्य राघवेंद्र कुमार, जितेंद्र कुमार पालीवाल, योगेंद्र कुमार, उज्जवल कुमार, शांता कुमार इत्यादि विभिन्न विषयों को पढ़ाना एवं परीक्षा पास करने के लिए नियमित टेस्ट के द्वारा तैयार करते थे। सभी छात्र गरीब परिवार से आते थे, और अधिकांश के माता-पिता अनपढ़ भी हैं। अतः उनका नियमित रूप से प्रेरणा पूर्ण अभिभाषणों के द्वारा मनोबल भी बढ़ाया जाता रहा हैं। विगत सालों में निर्धन परिवार के कृपा शंकर एवं शर्मिला कुमारी ने भी सफलता हासिल किया था और आज वे सरकारी पॉलिटेक्निक कॉलेज बरेली एवं लखनऊ में अध्ययनरत हैं। नवोदय मिशन के संस्थापक एवं महासचिव शांता कुमार ने कहा की हमने विगत छह सालों के प्रयास सेअपने उद्देश्यों के प्रथम  पहला चरण को प्राप्त किया हैं। पॉलिटेक्निक कॉलेज की पढ़ाई के बाद इन बच्चों को रोजगार मिल जाएगा और फिर वे आगे मेहनत कर और भी आगे बढ़ पाएंगे। इन सभी से प्रेरित होकर ज्यादा से ज्यादा बच्चे पढ़ाई की और उन्मुख होंगे एवं निकट भविष्य में इन गरीब बच्चों में से कोई ईंजीनियरिंग, मेडिकल एवं लोक सेवा आयोग की परीक्षा भी पास कर पाएंगे। नवोदय मिशन के शिक्षा सचिव राघवेंद्र जो पॉलिटेक्निक प्रवेश परीक्षा के विशेषज्ञ बन चुके हैं ने कहा की जब ये गरीब बच्चे सफलता प्राप्त करते हैं, उन्हे पढ़ाने में और भी मन लगने लगता हैं। सभी सफल छात्र के माता-पिता दिहारी मजदूर हैं और सभी सरकारी विद्यालयों में ही पढ़ते थे। कविता एवं जनार्दन सिंह अपने प्रथम प्रयास में ही कक्षा दस के साथ-साथ ही इस सफलता को हासिल कर लिया हैं। बुलबुल अनुसूचित जनजाति से आती हैं और अपने गाँव की पहली लड़की बन गयी हैं, जो इस परीक्षा को पास किया हैं। ये सभी बच्चे शेष सभी गरीब बच्चो के लिए प्रेरणा के स्रोत बन गए हैं और उनमें एक विश्वास भर दिया हैं की मेहनत कर वे भी सफलता हासिल कर सकते हैं। नवोदय मिशन एन॰ टी॰ पी॰ सी॰ रिहंद के सामाजिक दायित्व के उद्देश्य को फलीभूत करते हुए इनके पठन-पाठन में सहयोग देती रहेगी।

नवोदय मिशन का इतिहास

जिंदगी के सफर में कुछ ऐसे लम्हें होते हैं, जिसको हम बार बार याद करना चाहते हैं और उन यादों से एक अजीब सी ख़ुशी का बोध होता हैं. कर्मचारी विकास केंद्र, सिंगरौली में अपने पचास मित्रों के साथ बिताये हुए साल 2009 के वे दस महीने कुछ ऐसे ही  लम्हें थे। प्रशिक्षण, दोस्तों के साथ मस्ती, खेल-कूद इत्यादि के मध्य,  हममें से कुछ लोग ऐसे थे, जिनके मन में देश सेवा करने का विचार जन्म ले रहा था. प्रतिदिन संध्या काल इसी विषय पर चर्चा करने में बीत  जाता था. आखिर 15 अगस्त 2009 का वह समय भी आया जब हम सभी लोगों ने मिलकर आर्यव्रत छात्रावास के प्रांगण में तिरंगा लहराया और फिर शक्तिनगर में घूमने गये. सभी जगह घूमने के पश्चात, हमलोगों ने विचार किया और कुछ मिठाइयाँ लेकर शिवाजीनगर, जहाँ गरीब, मजदूर लोग रहते थे, पहुंच गये. जीवन का पहला अवसर था जब हमने ये कदम उठाया और एक अनजान डगर की तरफ बढ़ गये. बच्चें इकट्ठे हुए, सबने मिठाइयाँ लीं और देशभक्तों के नाम स्मरण किये. वहाँ पर लोगों से बात करने लगे. एक वृद्धा ने कहा की अच्छे शिक्षक के अभाव में उनके घर की लड़कियाँ पढाई नहीं कर पाती  हैं. आशीष कुमार ने सहसा कहा, हमें इन बच्चों को पढ़ाना चाहिए. और यही से जिंदगी का एक नया सफर शुरू हो गया.    

  अगले रविवार को हम सभी लोग शिवजी नगर पहुँच गये. सभी बच्चें क्रिकेट खेलने में व्यस्त  थे. काफी समझाने  के बाद भी वे पढ़ने के लिए आने के लिए तैयार नहीं थे. सभी लोग हताश होने लगे. तब दो छोटे छोटे बच्चों ने पढ़ने की इच्छा जाहिर की और हमने वही पेड़ के नीचे पढ़ाना शुरू कर दिया. कुछ समय पश्चात ही काफी बच्चें अपने अपने घरों से निकल कर आ गए और वही पढ़ने के लिए बैठ गये. कुछ लोगों ने हमलोगो के लिए कुर्सियाँ भी ले आये. इसी के साथ नवोदय मिशन नीँव पड़  गयी.   

पढ़ाने का यह साप्ताहिक कार्यक्रम कुछ समय के लिए ऐसा ही चलता रहा. फिर कुछ विचार कर हमलोगों ने तय किया की बच्चों को प्रतिदिन कर्मचारी विकास केंद्र में ही बुलाया जाय. अधिकारियों ने सहर्ष इस प्रस्ताव को स्वीकार कर लिया और प्रशिक्षण केंद्र का एक कमरा इस कार्यक्रम के लिए दे दिया गया. अब प्रतिदिन 70-80 बच्चें विभिन्न ग्रामों-बस्तियों से पैदल चल कर आने लगे. अभियंता प्रशिक्षु भी शाम के दो घंटे उनके साथ बिताने लगे. 

युवां जब भी कुछ कार्यक्रम करता हैं, तो उसकी सोच बहुत बड़ी होती हैं. हमलोग भी यही सपना देख रहे थे की इन बच्चों को पढ़ाकर तेज कर देंगे ताकि वे अपने जीवन में कुछ अच्छा कर सकेंगे. लेकिन एक महीने पढ़ाने के बाद भी जब कोई भी बच्चा कुछ नहीं सीख रहा था, तो सभी का मनोबल टूटने लगा. ऐसा नहीं था की बच्चें सीखना नहीं चाह  रहे थे. वे प्रतिदिन आते थे, पढाने पर पढ़ते थे, लेकिन सब भूल जाते थे. इसके बाद विचारों का एक मंथन चला और फिर हमने अपने उद्देश्य में थोड़ा परिवर्तन किया. हमने सोचा बच्चों को पढ़ने से ज्यादा जीना सीखाएंगे. उनकी सोच बदलेंगे. उनका रहन सहन और ढंग बदलेंगे. फिर हमलोगों ने पढाने के साथ साथ खेल करना, बातचीत करना, और कहानियां सुनाना, इत्यादि इत्यादि. इससे बच्चों में काफी बदलाव आने लगा. कुछ बच्चे अच्छा करने लगे. उनके किताब पढ़ने की आदत भी बढ़ने लगे. और इस तरह से सभी के मन में एक नया जोश आ गया और कार्यक्रम चलता रहा. शाम को बच्चें जब एक लाइन से भारत माता की जय और वन्दे मातरम का नारा लगाते निकलते थे, सभी आगंतुक इसकी प्रशंशा किये बिना नहीं रह पाते.

इस कार्यक्रम के माध्यम से पहली बार हमलोगों ने गरीब बच्चों को इतने नजदीक से देखा. किसी के पास अच्छे कपड़े नहीं थे. सभी लड़कियों और यहाँ तक की लड़कों को घर का काम, खाना बनाना इत्यादि करना पड़ता था. इसके बाद भी उनको पढ़ने की इच्छा थी और वे पढ़ भी रहे थे. बच्चों के आचरण में आये परिवर्तन से माता-पिता भी खुश थे और वे हम सभी का विशेष आदर-सम्मान करने लगे थे. अब वे भी हमलोगों के सलाह पर विचार करने लगे थे। कुछ ऐसे भी बच्चे थे जिनके माता पिता नहीं थे. इस पुनीत कार्य से सभी दोस्तों ने साथ दिया था. जीतेन्द्र पालीवाल, आशीष कुमार, शशांक कुमार मिश्र, विकास सूटिया, धीरज पाल, विष्णु कुमार दोकनिया, रविन्द्र कुमार मुर्मू, नारायण रेड्डी, राहुल आनंद, अरुण कुमार अहिरवार, खुशबू गोयनका, साक्षी सिन्हा, सेंकी गुप्ता ने इस कार्यक्रम को चलाने में अहम भूमिका निभाई और ये सभी अपने प्रिय दोस्त बन गये. इसके बाद हमलोगों का अलग अलग जगहों पर ट्रांसफर हो गये. हम सभी के किये प्रयास का यह सिलसिला बाद में भी चलता रहा. अभियंताओं के भीतर सेवाभाव जागृत होते गए और यह सिलसिला शक्तिनगर के साथ-साथ अन्य जगहों पर चलने लगा. 

जीतेन्द्र पालीवाल के साथ नवोदय मिशन का एक नये अध्याय 'प्रयास टीम' की शुरुआत एनटीपीसी, रिहंद में किया. गरीब बच्चों के शिक्षा के साथ-साथ सरकारी विद्यालयों में सुधार व अन्य स्वयंसेवी संस्था के साथ मिलकर काम करना शुरू किया. एनटीपीसी, रिहंद के शिव प्रांगण में निष्ठा जैन के नेतृत्व बच्चों को पढ़ाने का कार्यक्रम की शुरुआत की. पहले की भांति भी यहाँ पर काफी बच्चे आने लगे. एक साल के बाद कर्मचारी विकास केंद्र, रिहंद नगर में श्री बी. एल. स्वामी, अपर महाप्रबंधक के तौर पर आये और हमें कर्मचारी विकास केंद्र में ही बच्चों के कार्यक्रम चलाने के लिए आमंत्रण दिया।  दिवाकर कुमार के नेतृत्व में कक्षा 5 से 12 तक के ग्रामीण बच्चों  को नि:शुल्क  पढ़ाने का  कार्यक्रम सुचारू रूपसे चलने लगा. प्रतिदिन 60-70 बच्चें यहाँ आने लगे. सर्वांगीण विकास के लिए किये गए सभी अनुसन्धान यहाँ पर भी लगाया गया. योग की भी शिक्षा दी जाने लगी.

 नियमित पढाई के साथ-साथ नवोदय विद्यालय प्रवेश परीक्षा व पॉलिटेक्निक परीक्षा की भी तैयारी कराया जाने लगा. राघवेन्द्र कुमार के अथक व निरंतर प्रयास से वर्ष 2014 में कृपा शंकर व वर्ष 2015 में शर्मीला कुमारी ने पॉलिटेक्निक परीक्षा पास किया और अब वे शिक्षा ग्रहण कर रहे हैं. दोनों गरीब परिवार से आते हैं और दोनों के पिता प्लांट में मजदूरी करते हैं.

सरकारी विद्यालयों में पढाई न के बराबर होती हैं. इससे तेज बच्चे भी अच्छा नहीं कर पाते. इस साल चौदह मेधावी छात्रों को एनटीपीसी रिहंद में चल रहे डीएवी स्कूल एवं सैंट जोशेफ स्कूल में पढ़ने के लिए नवोदय मिशन के अनुरोध पर एनटीपीसी, रिहंद के सामाजिक दायित्व विभाग ने स्कूल फीस देने का आश्वाशन दिया हैं. इससे बच्चों का भविष्य और भी उज्जवल  होगा।

   इन सभी कार्यक्रमों के साथ साथ हमलोगों ने सिरसोती ग्राम में भी कार्य की शुरुआत किया. वहां के सरकारी विद्यालय में बच्चों का मनोबल बढ़ाया और नयी दिशा दिया. वहां के कई नौजवान अब इस मुहीम में जुड़ गए हैं और सिरसोती का विकास कैसे होगा, विचार करने लगे हैं. नशाबंदी के प्रयास किये जा रहे हैं. वहां का एक युवक अभिमन्यु जायसवाल ने नवोदय मिशन की प्रेरणा से एक विद्यालय भी शुरू किया और बच्चों को अच्छी शिक्षा कैसे मिले उसका प्रयास करने लगा हैं. वर्ष 2012 में सिरसोती खेल महाकुंभ का आयोजन किया गया, जहाँ कई ग्रामीण बच्चों ने अपनी प्रतिभा का परिचय दिया. इसके बाद इस विद्यालय में खेल के प्रति जागरूकता बनाया रखा और इसका परिणाम वर्ष 2015 में आया जब सोनभद्र, मिर्जापुर एवं भदोही तीन जिला में केवल इस विद्यालय के 24 छत्रों के दो दल राज्य स्तरीय खेल प्रतियोगिता मे चयनित हुए और वे वहाँ सफलता के परचम लहराया। इस साल नवोदय मिशन के द्वारा एक पुस्तकालय चलाया जा रहा हैं. वहां कम्प्यूटर सेंटर भी चलाया जा रहा हैं और डिजिटल इंडिया मिशन के अनुरूप सिरसोती को डिजिटल ग्राम बनाने की भी कल्पना को साकार किया जा रहा हैं. इस मुहीम में योगेन्द्र कुमार, गौरव श्रीवास्तव का बड़ा योगदान हैं. ग्रामीण बच्चों में व महिलाओं में भी वैज्ञानिक सोच का विकास किया जा रहा हैं और ग्रामीण शोध के लिए भी प्रशिक्षित किया जा रहा हैं. आदिवासी बच्चों के ऊपर विशेष ध्यान  जा रहा हैं.

नवोदय मिशन के सदस्यों ने सेवा समर्पण संस्थान के द्वारा चलाये जा रहे आदिवासी बच्चो के छात्रावास व विद्यालय के नवीनीकरण के लिए काफी कोशिश की हैं. वहां कंप्यूटर सेंटर खोलने में अहम भूमिका अदा किया। एनटीपीसी सामाजिक दायित्व विभाग व कर्मचारियों के द्वारा अनुदान दिलाते रहे हैं. वहां के बच्चों के शैक्षणिक स्तर में काफी सुधार हुआ हैं.

अजय वर्मा के नेतृत्व में गांधी धाम, एनटीपीसी में कार्यरत सफाई कर्मचारियों की बस्ती में भी शिक्षा का काम किया हैं. जनवरी 2014 से बस्ती की सफाई कार्यक्रम भी चल रहा हैं, जो अब स्वच्छ भारत का एक अंग बन गया हैं. समय समय पर नवोदय मिशन का शैक्षणिक अंग "नवोदय डेवलपमेंट एंड रिसर्च सोसाइटी" के द्वारा सर्वेक्षण भी होता हैं और उनके जीवन स्तर सुधारने के प्रयास भी हो रहे हैं. 

सपने आसमान छूने के हैं.  ये सभी प्रयास उसी दिशा की और जाते हैं. प्रारब्ध से नवोदय मिशन के सदस्यों की ये कोशिश रही हैं की सैकड़ो युवाओं को सेवा के इस महती कार्य से जोड़कर देश के विकास में महती भूमिका निभाएँ. अब केवल शिक्षा नहीं, गुणवत्ता पूर्ण शिक्षा देना हमारा उद्द्येश्य हैं और सम्पूर्ण सोच में परिवर्तन हो यही हमारी कल्पना. ग्रामीण बच्चे पहली बार अहसास करते हैं भारत देश का.
